Synopsis:

Harry decided that he should leave Privet Drive and join Ron Weasley at the Burrow to prevent Voldemort from tracking him down

The Order of the Phoenix, led by Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody, arrived to take Harry to his new home at the Weasleys’ house, the Burrow. Six of Harry’s friends took the Polyjuice Potion to disguise themselves as Harry and act as decoys, and they all flew off in different directions. The Death Eaters, alerted to their departure by Snape, attacked Harry and his friends. Voldemort chased Harry down, but Harry’s wand fought Voldemort off, without Harry’s help.

When Harry arrived at the Burrow, they all realised that Moody had been killed on the way. Harry had begun to get visions of Voldemort through his eyes. He witnessed that the Dark lord was hurting a wand maker, trying to find out how to defeat Harry.

Harry, Ron and Hermione gathered all their items to embark on a quest to find Horcruxes. These were the 7 parts to Voldemort’s soul, making himself immortal as long as the mysterious objects survived. Rufus Scrimgeour, Minister of magic, came to deliver a few items that Dumbledore had left in his will. Harry was left the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match, as well as the Sword of Gryffindor, which Scrimgeour did not give him, claiming it did not belong to Dumbledore. Ron was left a device called a Deluminator that turns lights off, and Hermione was left a book of wizard fairy tales. None of them had any idea what the items meant.

Harry and his friends disapparated to a house in London, and found out about a mysterious locket. Later, they all realised that this was a Horcrux, with a small part of Voldemort inside.

As they disapparated back to the house on Grimmauld Place, Hermione accidentally led one of the Death Eaters inside the protective enchantments, so they were forced to abandon the house and go on the run, moving from place to place and camping in the woods. They didn’t know where to look for the next Horcrux, and they didn’t know how to destroy the locket, which was protected by powerful magic. Harry had a vision of Voldemort tracking down another famous wand maker and looking for a young man who stole a wand.

Later on in the book, Hermione spotted a mysterious symbol in her book from Dumbledore.  Luna Lovegood’s father (Mr Lovegood) was spotted wearing it. Soon, they learn that this symbol was the Deathly Hallows…

What were the Deathly Hallows? How will Harry and his friends find and destroy the Horcruxes? What is Voldemort’s future leading to? Open this wonderful book to find out!

Why I like this book:

I enjoyed reading this book very much as it has a lot of information that explain the characters in detail. This story creates suspense within the reader which makes us ask questions in our minds about the plot. The next book in the series is called: Harry Potter and the cursed child. Make sure to look out for my next book review as this will be my next one, and, it’s the last one in the series!
